Quest Retail Technology is excited to announce the successful
installation of the largest and most comprehensive Stadium Point of
Sale solution anywhere in
the world. Dolphin Stadium in
Miami Gardens,
Florida, host of the 2007 and 2010
NFL Super Bowl now also boasts the largest wireless POS system under
one roof.
Dolphin Stadium presented Quest with an
exciting challenge: to deliver the most comprehensive and
technologically advanced POS solution inside one stadium; with a
goal of enhancing their customers' experience, and increasing
matchday accountability and revenue. Quest delivered by installing
more than 800 points of sale, including 250 wireless terminals for
portable sales outlets and 70 handheld devices for suites and
in-seat service. This will provide the stadium with the technology
to offer fans in-seat or in-suite ordering of food and refreshments
so they won’t have to miss any of the action. “Dolphin Stadium is a
leader in professional sports and entertainment and we believe
technology such as this will help us enhance the guest experience,”
stated Joe Bailey, Chief Executive Officer, Dolphins Enterprises.
Quest committed a team of experienced personnel including senior
engineers to the project to ensure that the system not only looked
great, but delivered world leading operating efficiency.
Terry Bassett, Vice President of Merchandising, Licensing and
Business Development for Dolphins Enterprises
said: “We signed the deal in May and had the first Quest POS
Terminals on site for Training in July. This was a significant
project as the old system did not provide us the platform we needed.
Quest worked closely with Dolphin Stadium and our food service
provider, Boston Culinary Group to install and commission the system
during the end of the baseball season and then to go live in August.
We’re very pleased that from the wireless portables to the bars,
restaurants, concessions and merchandising outlets, the new Quest
Point-Of-Sale system is performing extremely well”.
Quest had to overcome many hurdles in a short
period of time to ensure that the installation was completed in the
short timeframe between the end of the Florida
Marlins baseball season, and the beginning of the
Miami
Dolphins football season. Tim Stollznow, Quest General Manager,
said “Projects of this size always present interesting anomalies and
technical hurdles. For example, even after the contract was
signed, we redesigned parts of the RF network to support 802.11a as
well as 802.11b/g. This allows Dolphin Stadium the ultimate
flexibility in configuration as technology and requirements in this
area change. It’s fantastic to have these super projects to
push our Stadium POS solutions to the next level.”
