Quest Retail Technology has just released a new version of their VersaKey intelligent keyboard. VersaKey now comes standard with a USB connection for ease of installation, and has undergone a major face lift giving the keyboard its sleek new black and silver appearance. VersaKey addresses the need for organisations to improve their efficiency and productivity in environments where they are continually using the same key strokes or commands. The VersaKey is based on a standard 101 key keyboard, and contains 60 Special Application Keys (SAKs) at the top of the keypad layout. Each SAK can be programmed to learn a combination of key strokes on 2 levels, empowering VersaKey users to define up to 120 key strings, including combination keys such as Ctrl+Alt that can be recalled at the push of a button. Quest VersaKey is completely self contained and will plug directly into any PC with an available USB connection. The SAKs are very simple to define - just put the keyboard into learn mode, and record keystrokes. VersaKey is also supplied with software that enables an entire keyboards SAK definitions to be saved to disc. This is perfect for organisations that wish to utilise many keyboards with the same SAK definitions; simply programme 1 VersaKey, then copy the setup for all other employees that require the same functionailty.
